Today, I was going through some old emails and I came across this gem that I wrote to a group of female friends who have been hungry to be prosperously self-employed for years. I got inspired when I read the email. Why? I got inspired because what is laid out is a blue print for success!

Over the years, I have been wanting to transition from my classroom teaching career into another direction that is still focused on helping people and enriching lives. Each year the desire gets stronger and stronger. I truly want to work for myself some day: to be my own boss, make my own hours, and be a vital part of the health industry. The thought of leaving public education is overwhelming and scary. Can you relate? Are you afraid to leave your comfort zones?

I challenge you though. Look at yourself in the mirror and reflect on all that you have done thus far in your life. You are powerful! You want to live a life uncommon! You know this, you see this, you can be IT!

Provided below are notes I took from a lecture I listened to back in July of 2013.  The focus of the lecture was how to successfully start your own business. It was given by Ali Brown, one of the top female business owners of our time. She, by the way, started off working out of her home and was poor. By sharing these steps with you, is also helping me to get the courage to manifest my visions for a fulfilling life. My hope is that you are inspired to venture out on your wildest, richest dreams!

The Ten Keys to Success

1. BE OPTIMISTIC!

A. you don't need a lot of money because of modern aspects like social media and the internet

2. Design a business around the life you want to live
A. entrepreneurs will run the market of tomorrow because they are quick thinkers, willing to recreate and be new constantly, they are free to keep creating and to learn
B. Look at similar businesses: their figures
C. Where do you want to work? How many hours? When are those hours?

3. Research
A. Products or services that are wanted (not needed)
B. Business model that works (the numbers have to make sense and work)
C. Marketing

4. Learn to Embrace Risk
A. you miss great opportunities by avoiding risk
B. get out of your comfort zone because that's how you grow
C. once you declare you are ready opportunity drops right there
D. move out of FEAR

5. Stay our of FEAR and Step in with FAITH!
A. you can only grow as far as your greatest fear.
B. all that unknowing is your personal journey: not your family's not your friends'
C. when you make the decision to move with your faith/your decision that's when you cut off all other decisions, so trust and have faith.
D. you can't cling to what's comfortable and step into the new you.

6. Surround yourself with similar people
A. invest in coaching/mentoring
B. invest in training/education
C. you are the average of the 5 people you hang out with the most
D. Average people take advice from friends and family
E. Get advice from someone who has done what you want to do. Someone who is walking their talk.

7. Not everyone will support your success
A. holding back on your vision/dream holds you back

8. Utilize your most valuable asset: TIME
A. Everyone has 24 hours to work with, so work it
B. Be ruthless with your time
C. As soon as you can afford to hire help, do it (for it is only helping more people in the long run)

9. Your marketing is more important than your mastery!

10. Make decisions to take your business seriously
A. Stop treating your business like a hobby
B. How are you holding yourself back?
C. How are you acting small?
D. How are you being cheap?
E. How are you setting up this business for real?

While employed currently:
1. Building your skill sets while on the job
2. Build skills sets off the job (i.e. coaching, classes, groups, online learning)
3. Consider a transitional phases while working in order to move into your new line of work.

I hope these ideas inspire you and you set out to create your ultimate life, career, and happiness!
