Chelsea Good:
A Health Professional Who Just Wants Everyone to Feel Good

"How can I be a role model for others if I don't practice what I preach?" This comment was something that Chelsea Good, trainer, coach and soon-to-be registered dietitian expressed in a conversational interview we had a couple of weeks ago. Chelsea expressed this not so much as a comment, but actually as an open ended question for others to ponder when they are thinking about their own actions and goals. Chelsea Good is being a featured health professional this month because she leads by example. She is a woman who lives a life that is harmonious to the ideals of mind-soul bodybuilding. She is also my health and fitness mentor, and I have turned to her for advice about food and training since 2012. In a sense, this is a dedication feature to an amazing person.

Through my experience and observation, I have noticed that all of Chelsea's quests, both for herself and others, are integrity based. After my conversation with her, I could not help but to recognize how focused she is on making this world healthier and happier. She is a woman you want to walk with and learn from, whether you are an aspiring competitor or just want to know how to be healthier. She truly helps guide people down the road to fuller, happier living.  It does not matter your goals, she can take you there. Chelsea Good is about making people feel good.

Chelsea has lived her life as an athlete. From an early age, she developed a mind-muscle connection. This is important to know because Chelsea has had a lifetime to better understand how her body works in an efficient and powerful manner. Her personal knowledge helps her to support other people as they learn to better understand their own bodies. As many know, the mind-muscle connection is an essential component to physique change.

Chelsea was also raised in a home where eating whole, nutritious foods was a norm. As we know, many young people in our country suffer from Type II Diabetes, which is a disease that is directly linked to poor nutrition and obesity. This is a disease Chelsea wants to help combat and reduce. Chelsea feels all people deserve to know what it is like to live eating right. She wants more people to experience long-term health supported by whole foods. If you do decided to work with her, then just know you are in for some amazing recipes and nutritional support. When Chelsea does take on clients for nutrition, weight loss, or competition training she never offers a "one-size-fits-all" plan or diet. Rather, she applies her extensive knowledge from her past, and her present life as a dietitian graduate student, to meet her clients' specific needs.

Clearly, Chelsea's missions in life are to help the masses learn how to live healthier and be happier, one step at a time. She wants people to feel what it's like to see ourselves with greater respect and responsibility. Chelsea wants us to respect the lives we were given with tremendous gratitude. She is able to do this and inspire this in others because she connects with people as individuals, regardless of their past or set-backs. Based off of experience, not all trainers or coaches offer as much detailed attention to their clients. Chelsea is a rare find.

"I meet people where they are at," states Ch
elsea.  According to Chelsea, it is important to meet people where they are at because all people have a different place where they are starting from, wanting to go, and personalities. In Chelsea's eyes, one plan for living the fit-life does not support all people. Not all people are fiscally, emotionally,or circumstantially the same. Nor are all people goal oriented the same. This is what makes her different from most coaches and trainers. Why? Chelsea is different because she cares. There is no one-way with her; rather, she guides her clients through the whole process. Step-by-step, Chelsea is there.

I can attest to this because she was a coach who once
dramatically changed my life, and to this day I see her as a mentor. A mentor goes beyond a coach. A mentor is someone who you counsel with, learn from, and get inspired by for a lifetime. A coach is someone who is there generally for a season or two. This woman is so much more than you can imagine. I can talk about Chelsea with such confidence because I know of her powers to inspire and transform. I've seen it. I've lived it. I still hear about it from others today.

Chelsea has practical advice, too. "Do one small change a day," states Chelsea. "And don't try to jump the full gap. Just execute one minor task a day." This advice from Chelsea may sound easier said than done for many, especially when so many of us want the finish line before we've crossed the starting line. Chelsea, luckily, understands that most people face real-world problems like careers, marriages, divorce,
children, and even motivation. It is the excuses and lack of motivation that keep many people from working toward goals and getting healthier and happier. Chelsea, however, is there to coach you on how to do it. According to Chelsea, part of making that one small change a day, is making dates and appointments with yourself.

PictureChelsea getting ready for a photo shoot with 5th Element Studios. One thing Chelsea enjoys doing to keep herself accountable and on track for her fitness goals are doing photo shoots. Chelsea likes to inspire all people to be fit for many different reasons, whether just to move more, to compete, for athletic purposes, or for general weight loss and lifestyle changes. She truly is beautiful inside and out.
"One daily progress will build itself up into a larger picture of progress," claims Chelsea. Chelsea feels that if people make appointments or dates with themselves, to do even the most minor things, it will evolve into complete transformation. Chelsea believes that we have to see ourselves as worthy of such change. For example, giving ourselves the extra time, everyday, to make and eat a healthy breakfast. In Chelsea's words,it is important to put on our calendars, or phones, dates and times to exercise. She also stresses how we cannot be late to dates we make with ourselves. This ties back to her philosophy of self-respect
and responsibility.

Even those busy moms and dads learn how to make time with Chelsea. The stressed bodybuilder learns how to take rest days, family days, and refuels days. Chelsea teaches her bodybuilders how to approach shows in holistic ways that are not detrimental to their emotional and mental health, organs, or adrenals. Chelsea is a master at balancing and harmonizing her life, which is why she is sharing her gift to the world. Chelsea teaches her clients how to make fitness and healthy living a way of being. She is practical, wise, and a center-fold for mind-soul-body living.
