Patience: the Key to Unlocking Our Lives

The reality of victory, no matter the goal, has to have one essential ingredient. The most important element to any plan is to have patience attached to your wrist or secure, inside your pocket. Patience helps us to hold the vision of the big idea, or destination of our dream, in a positive light. Is it difficult to wait? Absolutely it can be, but it doesn't have to be painful or frustrating. If we want victory to be free of anxiousness and stress then patience is absolutely necessary.  It would be easy to go back to less, or lower our standards, just because we're too impatient to wait for the best. In other words, it would be easy to slip back into old habits, or to quit, simply because we want instant gratification. What does that solve though? When we are rushing does anything of quality transpire? Most likely not, and then we are left feeling bad about it, guilty, holding on to shame, and definitely vibrating at a lower frequency.

Part of vitality and youthfulness is to stay young and vibrant. Vibrant people have energy burning at high frequency. Those people often look like they are glowing and we often call them beautiful. Why are they so lovely to be around? Vibrant, youthful people-regardless of age-are magnetic and hypnotic because they allow their lives to flow under the grace of patience. Most successful, goal oriented people have realized that patience is the key to long term planning and goals, and that is what makes them extra beautiful. Mother Nature, herself, is patient. Plants do not grow to maturity overnight, a baby in a womb takes months to fully develop. So why do we try to rush everything? Why do we try to rush weight loss, love, having kids, getting married, and so much more? We put urgency toward everything mainly because technology is confusing us to think we must have results now! To fix that, we must change our mindset and way of responding to life.

In order to change our mind-set, and accept that patience will be our best friend to obtaining our ideal vision for life, then we have to surrender to time.  In our current age, time seems to move so quickly and there are technological advancements occurring beyond our comprehension making us believe that is true. Technology offers us a false reality that everything happens instantly. In all actuality, instant gratification is not the way to success or basking in our victory. True, the quickness of technology makes many things more enjoyable, such as communication or medical care; however, the quickness of lab results or an answer from an email still requires next steps and often work. Work, as we know, requires patience. Responding to time naturally is how we reach our destination with a real sense of accomplishment and happiness.

Time is relative. The months are going to by whether or not you exercise or eat right. People are going to develop and change regardless if you are open to changing too. Basically, time marches on at a fluid pace. What makes us feel rushed, or that time is speeding past us, is our attitudes and mental and physical health.  Keep in mind that often what we are meant to learn and become happens in the process of waiting. Just be patient. In the end, you'll be happy you did not rush things or give in to less than what you deserve. Just be patient.

Below are lists of things you can do to cultivate more patience into your life for a variety of reasons.

Weight loss:
  • Work with a nutritionist and develop a meal plan. Food should not been seen as a diet. Food is part of living.
  • Stick to your meal plan 80% of the time. You're capable of being a B student in life, aren't you?
  • Drink water each time you get those bored eating hunger cravings
  • Drink more water!
  • Reduce your caffeine consumption
  • Vigorously, move your body at least 4 times a week.
  • Only weigh yourself once a month and no more than every other week
  • Eat whole foods and lots of veggies. Veggies are free and make you glow!
  • Focus on how your clothes feel.
  • Start picking new adjective to describe your body parts (e.g. luscious thighs, curvy hips, juicy booty)
  • Write down 5 things you are grateful for in your life and 5 things you love about yourself in a gratitude journal
  • Walk every day-even if it's just ten minutes and leave your cell phone at home
  • Don't eat in front of a TV or the computer (we often over eat when we are distracted while eating)
  • Slow down while eating and fully chew your food
  • Take a yoga class once a week

Wanting a Romantic Love
  • Ask yourself: is the purpose to a full life mean you have to be married or with a significant other, or are you enough?
  • Go for a walk each time you get overwhelmed or feel lonely. Leave your cell phone at home and just enjoy being with yourself
  • Do things daily that make you feel good, regardless if you have company or not
  • Spend time with family
  • Create opportunities to support your friends without expecting anything in return
  • Don’t compare yourself to pictures you see on social media-it's a false idea of reality
  • Meditate. Get comfortable being with yourself. No one can love you if you can't love yourself first
  • Write an affirmation that helps you to relax, and write it in present tense. (e.g. I am exactly where I need to be; I am enough)
  • Make a dream box and when inspired add a piece of paper inside that has a simple, present tense message about your ideal love (e.g. My life partner is trustworthy, kind, loyal, affectionate and communicates openly)
